The girls’ lives are turned upside down when the prince, Seyo’s closest friend, goes missing and the mystical Eternity Gate is discovered. Treasure may not be all that is found inside the hidden gates; misery and war linger in the shadows. Keeping the key to the gate hidden, Seyo must decide who she can trust and whether she can save her friend before it’s too late.
Let me just say I absolutely ADORED this story. It was so original it didn’t feel like anything else I have ever read! (And I’ve read a lot of YA Fantasy) The courageous but humble heroine captured my heart on page one, and her gentle spirit is something I aspire to. Her selfless actions while searching for her friend and bravery while facing hideous monsters, some with normal faces but bitter hearts, kept me reading (or in this case listening) until the very end.
It’s hard to share what I loved about the story without giving spoilers, but I will say this, the magic system and the elegant mysteries woven into this story are top-tier in my book!
