Book Review: Sky of Seven Colors

Imagine a world without color, only shades of white and gray. Now imagine a girl from our earth with colored eyes and hair taken to this world against her will.

Meg only wanted to save her friend, who was dying in a hospital bed from a coma he couldn’t wake from. Now she is forced to live in a world where she is one of the few sources of color on which magic thrives. A king demands her hand in marriage, so his power will never end, in exchange for healing her friend. Meg wants to go home, but she also needs this deal. When her new friends reveal more secrets about the king, Meg must decide if her sacrifice will be enough to save his gray earth and her friend.

It’s the Chronicles of Narnia mixed with a fairytale. I enjoyed this cozy fantasy and its shades of magic. Meg’s selfless attitude and struggle in a world where she doesn’t belong made me cheer for her as she fought to find her way home. Her cleverness and willingness to sacrifice everything creates a noble plot worth reading again and again!
