Alice refuses to blend in with a world of conformity. Without the wonder gene, she can’t compete in the wonderland trials where she could have the chance to explore all the beauty and mystery of Wonderland. That is, unless she is a rare wildflower who is invited by a wonderland trial administrator.
Alice keeps her head down during the school day but likes to go to known Wonder hangouts to play. An annoying man who thinks he’s her friend may get on her bad side, but she is interested that he will get to compete in the Wonderland trails this year, and he somehow knows about her strange dreams.
When Alice’s uptight sisters goes missing, and her cat starts talking Alices thinks for a moment, she may be going crazy. That is until she is invited to go to Wonderland and finds who there is a reason she is so drawn to it. She will have to use all her wit and card tricks to stay alive during the trials and uncover the growing world of secrets.
Though Wonderland Trails is not my normal cup of poisoned tea, I enjoyed this twist on a classic diary tale. The games and puzzles made my head spin in wonder and I am excited to see the second installment!
