Book Review: Crown of Secrets

Royalty, magic, invisible threats, and hidden secrets, what’s not to love? I enjoy the main character’s determination to prove herself and her air of dignity that demands respect. Her selfless but distrusting attitude makes her the perfect opponent, and match for the crown prince Darius who has more secrets than she could ever hope to unravel.

My only drawback on this story is it all felt like an introduction and the best part was the ending which felt a little like a cliffhanger. It still receives my praise though as I’m sure the sequels will continue to build on this complex plot.

Scoresheet:
Spice/Romance: No spice, a sweet kiss in secret
Violence: Low. Mostly sparing matches with no blood drawn
Morals/Worldview: Christian/good morals
Recommended reading age: 15+
