The Recorder has not chosen a name because she doesn’t think she can survive what is coming. In order to keep her friends safe, she will have to face the Eldest, and she does not tolerate deviation. The Recorder lived after the death of her drone and has befriended cillans, a crime punishable by servance in the hall of reclamation and the surrender of organs. The
Recorder’s friends refuse this fat,e and the people she has saved from the viris agree. With the world behind her and the Eldest against her, her fate is undecided.
The conclusion of the Children of the Consortium series will leave you gasping for air
and whipping a tear from your eye. The Recorder continues her self-sacrificing journey of saving her friends, her new friends, and her first friend. Her dedication to life and surrival remind us that
we have much to live for and even more to fight for. I am pleased with the conclusion but also disheartened that there is not another book following in its wake.
